Sri Balaji Society was formed in the year 1999.Sri Balaji Society, Pune is a well known charitable trust which has mothered four management Institutes, namely Balaji Institute Of Modern Management(BIMM), Balaji Institute of Telecom & Management(BITM), Balaji Institute of International Business(BIIB) and Balaji Institute of Management & Human Resources Development (BIMHRD). The society is also running Balaji Law College, Balaji College of Arts, Commerce and Science and Balaji Junior College. Ranked as the fourth for infrastructure by 'The Mint' paper and one amongst the best three institutes for visiting faculties in India as per 'Business India Magazine'. Sri Balaji Society believes in the values of 3Ds-Discipline, Dedication and Determination. Nearly 100 corporate stalwarts visit the Institutes every year to interact with the students, through various forms of training such as National Seminars, workshops, management games, project presentations, project evaluation and so on.

The management institutes of Sri Balaji Society enjoy very good campus placements. The two year full time management programs(PGDM) of the institutes are approved by All India Council Of Technical Education(AICTE) and recognised as equivalent to MBA degree by the Association of Indian Universities(AIU). The founder and President of Sri Balaji Society is an ex-serviceman who happens to be the unprecedented recipient of the rank of Honorary Colonel from the armed forces conferred by the President of India after his retirement for his contribution to management education. He is also a writer whose short stories and novels have been published in various Tamil magazines. His articles are often seen in ET.

His model of selection of candidates and grooming of the students is totally different. Despite controversies he does not believe in the concept of holidays during the entire period of the two year full time PGDM programme which has resulted in very good performance of his students in the industry leading to very good campus placements. Companies from all over India are visiting the management institutes of Sri Balaji Society to recruit management trainees.

Sri Balaji Society is also conscious of its social responsibilities and are sponsoring many National events related to education and are granting free scholarships to lot of needy and deserving candidates. The society has created a corpus of Rs.50 lakhs with the Indian army out of which scholarships are granted to the children of the armed forces for higher studies every year. The society has also created a corpus for Rs.10 lakhs with the popular 'Nakeeran Magazine' out of which an award of Rs.1 Lakh is given to the best teacher of Tamil Nadu. The charitable grants by this society so far is running around Rs.5 crores of rupees. The sponsorships given by the trust is to the tune of Rs.6 crores. Thus the society is not only focussing on education but also contributing to social cause within its limitation. The society is soon launching a full fledged magazine under the title 'Corporate Citizen' which will touch on the 'Cool side' of the Business world and reach the news stands very soon.
