IIMB presents the 5th International Conference on Business Analytics and Intelligence. The BAI conference is one of the most prestigious gatherings for academicians and practitioners.

The role of analytics in solving business problems has increased manifold in recent years. Analytics and Big Data Technologies have become a competitive strategy for many companies. Through this conference, the Data Centre and Analytics Lab (DCAL) at IIM Bangalore provides a platform for Analytics and Big Data professionals to create and disseminate knowledge in the field of Analytics. This conference is an apt platform to understand applications of Analytics and Big Data in various disciplines of management and how they are being used for solving domain and sector specific problems.

We invite academic and corporate professionals to present their research in the analytics domain on real-life problem/data. The conference paper should necessarily be on the sub themes and related areas.

There are three Pre-Conference Workshops on "Machine Learning using R", "Machine Learning using Python", and "Deep Learning" on December 9 & 10, 2017 as parallel events.

Guidelines for Abstract
  • Abstract should be informative explaining the background, the need, aims, methods and the expected findings.
  • The last date for submission of abstract is September 9, 2017.
  • Abstract in PDF format should be submitted online using Sign Up/ Login link.
  • File name should necessarily be your conference User ID (Ex: BAI1649).
  • Template is available under Downloads.
Guidelines for Paper
  • The paper should not exceed 4500 words / 12 pages.
  • The last date for submission of final paper is October 28, 2017.
  • Paper must conform to the following generic format: introduction, literature review, methodology, findings/discussion, conclusion/implications and references.
  • Full paper in PDF format should be submitted online using Sign Up/ Login link. Data set is mandatory for all submissions & preferably in MS Office Excel format.
  • File names should necessarily be your conference User ID (Ex: BAI1649).

Best Paper Award
  • A certificate of participation will be provided to all participants.
  • Three best papers will be awarded a certificate of merit.
Publications
  • Select papers will be invited for publication in the special issue of IIMB Management Review (IMR). IMR is a peer-reviewed academic journal brought out in collaboration with Elsevier. Addressed to management practitioners, researchers and academics, IMR aims to engage rigorously with practices, concepts and ideas in the field of management, with an emphasis on providing managerial insights, in a format that is accessible to a wide audience. To this end, IMR invites manuscripts that provide novel managerial insights in any of the core business functions. The manuscript should be rigorous, that is, the findings should be supported by either empirical data or a well-justified theoretical model, and well written. Although all manuscripts are welcome, our special emphasis is on papers that focus on emerging economies throughout the world. IMR is indexed on the Australian Business Dean's Council (ABDC) database as a "B" category journal., and also on the abstract and citation database SciVerse Scopus, and is available through Elsevier’s electronic service ScienceDirect® http://www.sciencedirect.com/science/journal/09703896 IMR is also listed in Cabell's directory.
